SA Program Lead

Job Summary:
The SA Program Lead is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of curriculum and activities for school-age children at the Family YMCA of Marion & Polk Counties. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement curriculum and activities that promote the physical, emotional, and social development of school-age children.
- Supervise and support Assistant Program Leaders and staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs.
- Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with Site Supervisors and Department Directors to achieve program goals and objectives.
- Model and promote the Y's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to obtain hands-on Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Ability to obtain Food Handler's Card.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- One of the following:
- An associate degree in child education or development.
- At least a step 6 in the Oregon Registry.
- ORO.
- At least 3 months (240 hours) of qualifying teaching experience in a Certified Childcare Center or comparable group care program.
- At least 60 hours within the program AND 20 hours of training, completed within the last 5 years, focused on school-age childcare that meets core knowledge criteria.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Must be physically capable of observing and listening for stressful situations at all times.
- Must be physically capable of lifting 40 pounds.
- Must be able to quickly reach a person and/or situation to prevent harm.
Working Conditions:
The SA Program Lead will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain a positive attitude is essential.
Pay Rate: $16.25/hr
