Job Title: Director Trauma Program

ReqOverflow is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Trauma Program to lead our trauma program to excellence.

Job Summary

The Director of Trauma Program will be responsible for ensuring that our trauma center meets all the necessary standards and guidelines set by the Virginia Department of Health and the Office of Emergency Services. This includes complete operational function, program assessment, planning, organizing, implementation, performance improvement, education, and marketing communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Survey Readiness: Provide education and preparation of hospital staff regarding American College of Surgeons (ACS) guidelines for ACS verification and re-verification.
  • Clinical Activities: Coordinate management across the continuum of trauma care, including planning and implementation of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines.
  • Education Responsibilities: Provide intrafacility and regional professional staff development, participate in case review, implement practice guidelines, and direct community trauma education and prevention programs.
  • Performance Improvement: Monitor clinical processes and outcomes and system issues related to the quality of care provided.
  • Administration: Manage operational, personnel, and financial aspects of the trauma program.
  • Supervision of the Trauma Registry: Supervise collection, coding, scoring, and developing processes for validation of data.
  • Consultant and Liaison: Stabilize the complex network of disciplines providing high-quality care.
  • Research: Have an active involvement in research projects and the analysis and distribution of findings.
  • Community and National Involvement in Trauma Care Systems: Participate in the development of trauma care systems at the community, state, or national level.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years clinical nursing leadership experience in Trauma, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, or other critical care areas required in an acute care setting.
  • Three to five years of experience in coordination of multiple phases of care and multiple level/groups of personnel is helpful.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Current licensure as Registered Nurse in Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CEN, or CCRN within two years of accepting position.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OVERSEEING A TRAUMA PROGRAM/PREPARING FOR SURVEYS/PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT/STRONG REGULATORY COMPONENT TO THIS ROLE
