We are thrilled to present an exceptional career opportunity for a Technical Accounting Manager to join our CFO Advisory team. This position is designed to be remote, allowing flexibility while still requiring occasional presence at a CohnReznick office for client engagements, team meetings, or training sessions.

The team collaborates with the office of the CFO, assisting a diverse range of clients from startups to upper middle market companies. We guide CFOs through strategic, operational, and accounting challenges, including preparation for public or private transactions, while closely partnering with the M&A group for pre and post-transaction support.

YOUR ROLE.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance to clients on new and complex accounting standards, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, stock-based compensation, asset impairment, and purchase accounting.
  • Manage and lead intricate engagements, advising on various transactions, including IPO readiness and M&A.
  • Collaborate with clients and senior leadership to formulate strategies, balance risks, and exceed client expectations.
  • Deliver technically sound accounting advice to clients and engagement teams across varying complexities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive business development initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members.

YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related Finance field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in technical accounting roles (strong SEC reporting knowledge is essential).
  • Prior public accounting experience in audit and assurance is advantageous.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and hands-on experience drafting 10Q/10K reports or performing controllership functions related to consolidations, GL close, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project).
  • Effective project and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A solid understanding of financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Recent experience in developing technical accounting analyses and related narrative memos linking GAAP guidance to practical implementation solutions.
  • Up-to-date training on recent GAAP standards (IFRS or US GAAP).
  • The ability to critically assess solutions for optimal client outcomes.
