The IT Support Specialist role is essential for delivering desktop assistance and managing network systems. This position will engage with personnel through various communication channels to ensure a reliable and efficient Service Desk. Responsibilities may encompass the planning, development, testing, and implementation of IT solutions aimed at enhancing the overall productivity of the IT Department and the CONAM organization. This includes the deployment of tools, troubleshooting end-user technical issues, software installations, computer setups, peripheral maintenance, and collaborating on server deployment and upkeep, alongside general IT problem-solving.

KEY ATTRIBUTES WE SEEK:

We are in search of a dedicated IT Support Specialist for our corporate office, offering a hybrid work arrangement.

This is a Full-Time | Hourly position | Eligible for Full Benefits.

Compensation Range: $25 - $28 / Hour

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Desktop Support Responsibilities
    • Conduct regular meetings with the IT Infrastructure Manager to provide updates
    • Oversee the ticket queue, resolving issues or delegating tickets to team members
    • Document IT procedures and create both physical and logical infrastructure diagrams
    • Establish and manage user accounts and permissions for network access
    • Troubleshoot and support desktop and laptop systems
    • Assist with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) issues
    • Support and troubleshoot computer peripherals including printers, scanners, and network devices
    • Manage and monitor the ServiceDesk Ticket System
    • Resolve complex software and hardware issues for desktops, smartphones, and peripherals using an Endpoint Management System (preferably Quest KACE)
    • Possess a solid understanding of networking concepts and TCP/IP
  2. Network Support Responsibilities
    • Design, develop, deploy, and monitor custom scripts or solutions to integrate different systems or automate routine IT processes
    • Manage, monitor, and develop deployment and patching strategies utilizing Dell KACE
    • Design and institute reporting for all automated or scripted systems for compliance or auditing
    • Oversee user accounts and email addresses, including auditing automated AD user object management scripts
    • Manage and monitor systems compliance through Endpoint Management System (KACE) and AD Group Policies
    • Oversee ESET Anti-Virus Enterprise Solution
    • Collaborate closely with the IT Systems Engineer for backup support
    • Monitor and respond to IT system alerts during business hours
    • Troubleshoot networking, server/OS, and virtualization challenges
  3. Additional Duties as Assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Required: College education or equivalent certification
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an enterprise environment or equivalent
  • At least 4 years of proven experience in a similar role managing a significant portion of corporate IT infrastructure
  • Minimum of 1 year experience creating enterprise-level scripts/functions with PowerShell
  • Essential Skills / Knowledge:
    • PC operating systems and hardware
    • Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
    • Computer peripherals including printers, scanners, and network devices
    • PowerShell
    • Wireless clients and standalone Access Points
    • Smartphones (iPhone/Android)
    • General networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, VLAN, IPconfig)
    • Windows Server Active Directory and Group Policy
    • Exchange Management Console
    • Centrally managed Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)/Antivirus (AV)
    • General Windows Server knowledge
    • Desktop/Laptop imaging solutions (Ghost, Sysprep, Acronis, WDS, KACE)
    • Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Preferred Skills / Knowledge:
    • Experience implementing and supporting a variety of technologies, including:
      • VMWare & HyperV
      • SAN and NAS systems such as Dell EqualLogic and Synology
      • Various Operating Systems from Windows 2008 – 2012 R2 and Linux Red Hat
      • Cloud services like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.
      • Veeam Backup & Recovery for Disaster Recovery solutions
      • Cisco and/or Juniper network systems
    • SQL Server Reporting Services
    • Cost-effective planning and implementation
