Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an IT Support Specialist to act as the primary liaison for our information systems user community. This role is integral to the Enterprise Operations team, specifically supporting the Operations Research and Cyber Analysis (ORCA) division. Key responsibilities include managing support requests, delivering technical assistance, and overseeing the deployment and maintenance of both software and hardware solutions. Key Responsibilities

As an IT Support Specialist, your primary duties will include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and timely support to end users, addressing all computer and system-related inquiries.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving IT issues, including both hardware and software challenges.
  • Analyzing and diagnosing complex system and network faults, implementing necessary corrective measures.
  • Deploying, repairing, testing, and tracking hardware and software assets, while managing inventory effectively.
  • Performing patching and upgrades, ensuring software maintenance, and coordinating with third-party vendors.
  • Assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software, while documenting IT processes and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Contributing to IT projects, system upgrades, software integrations, and new technology implementations.
  • Coordinating and executing scheduled upgrades and interfacing effectively with third-party support and vendors.

Salary Information: Please note that the salary range provided is a general guideline. Salaries are determined based on experience, qualifications, and market conditions. California Pay Transparency Range: $60,000 - $90,000

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience with 1-3 years of relevant experience in system building, computer provisioning, and familiarity with Active Directory, Windows Server, Windows OS, and Linux.
  • Experience with VMWare and virtualized environments, along with a foundational understanding of routing and switching.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and time management skills, with experience in both independent and collaborative team settings.
  • US Citizenship is required; candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must possess and maintain DoD 8570/8140 certification (e.g., Security+ CE).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Department of Defense (DoD) secure environments, including knowledge of relevant security protocols and compliance requirements.
  • Certification or training in advanced IT topics to enhance existing skills and knowledge.
  • Experience in providing advanced helpdesk support, including troubleshooting complex technical issues and managing escalations in a high-demand environment.
