Role Summary

The selected candidate will operate under the guidance of the Manager/In-Charge Technologist and Medical Director, executing a range of technical procedures that necessitate a significant level of independent judgment and initiative in utilizing radionuclides for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide appropriate care to patients during clinical procedures.
  • Ensure patient identification through verification of two identifiers and review of procedure orders.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations.
  • Gather relevant patient history and assess for any procedural contradictions.
  • Maintain and operate necessary auxiliary equipment.
  • Communicate clearly with patients and their families, preparing them for procedures.
  • Select and administer the correct radionuclide/medication in the appropriate dosage and route.
  • Prepare instruments, computers, and imaging protocols as per departmental guidelines.
  • Implement ALARA principles in all clinical duties.
  • Evaluate image quality and perform additional views as necessary.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine technology program.
  • At least one year of experience in nuclear medicine.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • ARRT(N) or NMTCB registry.
  • ARRT (CT) certification.
  • CPR certification and ARRT(N) registered and/or NMTCB registered.
  • SCRQSA License.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Preferred ARRT in Radiology.
  • Experience with Philips equipment is advantageous.
  • Required experience in SPECT/CT.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Familiarity with office equipment such as fax and copier.
  • Proficient in database management and data entry.
  • Strong mathematical abilities.
  • Solid foundation in physics and chemistry.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety equipment.
