Job Title: Sous Chef

Shanty Creek Resorts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting the Chef de Cuisine in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including banquet and ala carte functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the preparation and presentation of food for all menu items.
  • Assist in the management of kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met, and that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and organized manner.
  • Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to develop and implement new menu items and specials.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of supplies and ingredients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef de Cuisine.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional culinary experience in a leadership role.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited culinary school.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
Working Conditions:

The Sous Chef will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and physical activity. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time is required.
