Job Summary

Shanty Creek Resorts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including food production, service, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, stewards, and leaders.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of food and supplies, ensuring that all necessary items are on hand.
  • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and cooking procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine to plan and execute special events and banquets.
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Monitor and control food costs, ensuring that they are within budget.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional culinary experience in a leadership role.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited culinary school.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
