Job Summary

The Security Staff Sergeant is a key member of the Denali Universal Services team, responsible for overseeing and coordinating security activities at the assigned job site. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to build effective partnerships with clients and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and supervise security officers and shift supervisors to ensure delivery of quality security services.
  • Monitor regulatory and contract compliance, conduct audits, and provide administrative support for security operations.
  • Handle confidential materials, generate reports, and perform other duties as required.
  • Assist with first-line supervision of the assigned security workforce and act as shift supervisor as needed.
  • Utilize clear and effective communication skills to provide information to others, mediate disputes, and investigate incidents.
  • Assist with the management of escalated security or emergency situations and ensure notification is made to law enforcement personnel and other emergency responders.
  • Help maintain operations continuity and ensure security posts are covered at all times.
  • Administer the key control system, including cutting keys and preparing cores, and maintain the key control register.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of prior experience in military, law enforcement, corrections, or private security.
  • 1 year of prior supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • State Unarmed Security Officer License or ability to obtain.
  • Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or ability to obtain.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lead with professionalism, respect, and integrity at all times.
  • Ability to teach and train others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making and incident/event management skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • 2+ years of previous supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of security services and developing Security Post Orders in the private sector.
  • Knowledge and ability to develop and maintain a Security Officer Training Program.
  • Advanced skills utilizing common office-related computer programs and ability to learn proprietary programs unique to the client.
Physical Demands

The employee will be required to work in an office setting as well as confined workspaces such as a security guard post, security gate, or patrol vehicles. The majority of work is performed in an industrial setting with a variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

The employee's work requires routine walking, standing, sitting, bending, and carrying/lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. The candidate will be required to successfully complete a post-offer pre-hire physical and fitness for duty evaluation.
