Position: Product Manager

Location: North Syracuse, NY

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Product Manager is integral to the advancement and success of a product or product line. This role encompasses managing the complete product lifecycle from initial concept through to launch and subsequent phases. Product Managers collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure that products align with market demands, are delivered punctually, and fulfill business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Strategy and Planning:

  • Establish the product vision and strategy informed by market analysis, customer insights, and organizational goals.
  • Create product roadmaps that delineate feature prioritization, key milestones, and timelines.
  • Engage with stakeholders to synchronize product plans with overarching business aims.

Product Development and Execution:

  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to convert product requirements into technical specifications.
  • Prioritize features based on customer demands, market dynamics, and business imperatives.
  • Steer the product development process, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.

Market Analysis and Customer Insights:

  • Conduct market research to discern customer needs, competitive positioning, and industry trends.
  • Collect and evaluate customer feedback through surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to inform decisions regarding product features and enhancements.

Go-to-Market Strategy:

  • Partner with marketing and sales teams to formulate go-to-market strategies for product launches and promotional activities.
  • Articulate product messaging, positioning, and targeting based on market segmentation and customer profiles.
  • Develop sales enablement materials and assist sales initiatives with product training and resources.

Performance Tracking and Optimization:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product success.
  • Monitor product performance against KPIs and refine features and strategies to enhance outcomes.
  • Conduct post-launch evaluations to extract lessons learned and identify areas for improvement.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Serve as a liaison among various departments, including engineering, marketing, sales, and operations.
  • Communicate product updates, modifications, and timelines to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to craft product messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.

Potential travel up to 25%.

Additional responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in Product Management within a related industry, preferably in technology or software, along with 3 years in a technically driven environment working within a broad cross-functional team.

  • Process-oriented with systems thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and product management tools such as JIRA, Asana, or Trello.
