Job Title: Principal Scientist, Translational Bioinformatics

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Scientist, Translational Bioinformatics to join our Translational Medicine team at Pyxis Oncology. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of translational bioinformatics strategies to support the identification of predictive and pharmacodynamic biomarkers for our clinical stage therapeutics candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and spearhead translational bioinformatics strategies using omics and high-dimensional data to identify biomarkers of response and resistance to immune oncology and antibody drug conjugate therapeutics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate biomarker data from multiple sources and inform biomarker strategy from early research to clinical programs.
  • Apply machine learning and statistical algorithms to expand the capability and capacity of existing Pyxis Oncology platforms to investigate efficacy and mechanism of action.
  • Identify novel targets and pathways in oncology and develop biomarker assays to support clinical trials.
  • Lead the development of in-house algorithms for the analysis of large-scale 'omics data and maintain in-house pipelines for the processing of 'omics data.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, human genetics, biostatistics or related field, with 5+ years of industry experience utilizing bioinformatics to develop biomarker strategies.
  • Experience working with clinical and biomarker datasets for translational purposes or to address biological questions.
  • Broad omics experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and previous experience with cross-functional leadership or management is preferred.
