Job Title: Bioinformatician I Channing Lab

The Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, is seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatician to join their team. As a Bioinformatician, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting complex genomic data, developing and implementing bioinformatics tools and pipelines, and collaborating with researchers to advance our understanding of human disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement bioinformatics tools and pipelines to analyze and interpret genomic data
  • Collaborate with researchers to identify and prioritize projects, and develop and implement bioinformatics solutions to support their research goals
  • Analyze and interpret complex genomic data, including next-generation sequencing data, to identify patterns and trends
  • Develop and maintain databases and data management systems to store and manage large datasets
  • Communicate complex bioinformatics concepts and results to researchers and other stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as R, Python, and Perl
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and pipelines, including next-generation sequencing data analysis
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or a related field
  • Experience with machine learning and statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of Linux and Unix operating systems
  • Experience with database management systems
