Job Title: Bioinformatician I Channing Lab

The Channing Division of Network Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, is seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatician to join their team. As a key member of the Bioinformatics Core, you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing complex genomic data sets, including next-generation sequencing data and data processing or curation.

Our team works on a wide range of projects, involving the interrogation of genomic, transcriptomic, and epigenomic data using machine learning analysis tools and data analysis pipelines. You will be responsible for developing and supporting the complex bioinformatics infrastructure needed for data collection, transformation, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, create, and support tools and software analysis pipelines
  • Secure dissemination of information generated
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement data analysis pipelines
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals

Requirements:

  • MS in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Biological Engineering
  • Programming skills with agile development methods
  • Experience with R, Python, and bioinformatics tools such as BWA, samtools, and GATK
  • Understanding of database design and ETL procedures
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Snakemake, or Nextflow
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
