Job Summary

This position provides programming and risk reduction services to adult female residents at Topeka Correctional Facility as part of the Risk Reduction & Reentry (R3) program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver programming at TCF, including identifying residents needing programs, building groups, and ensuring an adequate dose of motivation.
  • Participate in training and planning necessary for this work and take the lead on groups for residents with diagnosed behavioral health needs.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver services to the targeted offender population that address recovery needs, including establishing a referral process and coordinating care and support.
  • Act as liaison for state Mentoring for Success staff and Mentors inside the facility, ensuring mentors are focusing on risk reduction support and receiving necessary support and information.
  • Maintain data and information related to processes and impact, and provide the information to the TCF R3C and as requested by the statewide Programs Director.
Requirements
  • One year of experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring activities relevant to the agency's programs.
  • Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
  • Preferred qualifications include two years of experience delivering programming, preferably CBI and to adult felons, and using core correctional practice tools, specifically EPICS.

This position requires a strong understanding of evidence-based principles regarding correctional programming and the ability to work effectively with a team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work in a correctional facility and have experience working closely with a multi-disciplinary team.
