Technical Project Manager II

At the Allen Institute, we are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager II to join our Scientific Computing team. As a Technical Project Manager II, you will play a critical role in facilitating rapid processing and sharing of AIND data and tools with neuroscientists worldwide.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with experience in managing cross-functional projects, enhancing communication, and maximizing impact with internal teams and external collaborators. You will oversee intake and clarification of projects, working with software, hardware, and scientific teams to define requirements.
Key responsibilities include organizing meetings, analyzing data, and developing prototypes to collect use cases, convert these to technical requirements, and work with a cross-functional team to implement application-specific solutions. You will also write code to work with scientific data stored in files, databases, and lab information management systems to proactively identify issues, troubleshoot solutions, and drive timely outcomes.

- Define scope of project with leadership, engineering, and science stakeholders
- Plan and organize meetings with clear agenda and expected outcomes
- Identify, assess, and track issues and risks, escalating issues when appropriate
- Monitor and communicate project status to stakeholders in multiple departments
- Partner closely with program management and leadership teams to plan and implement annual goals and milestones
- Facilitate collaboration and communication between various technical specialists, including systems, optical, electrical, mechanical, software engineering, and scientists to sustain focus, ensure on-time delivery, and drive project momentum
- Apply best practices to the software development cycle
- Create and manage project schedules
- Remain flexible to changing priorities and ideas while keeping project milestones on track
- Work with scientific software, data, databases, and lab management systems to monitor project progress
We offer a competitive salary range of $109,100 - $135,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, as well as a 401k plan.
