Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to join our team at Blue Origin. As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and operations of our New Glenn launch vehicle, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond.

You will work closely with engineering and program management teams to identify and manage risks, issues, and opportunities, and lead mitigation strategies and burndown plans. Your work will enable New Glenn's successful development and operation of complex spaceflight hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the risk database and facilitate risk review boards
  • Coach team members through the risk process
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategies to mitigate risks to a program's technical requirements, assets, cost/schedule baselines, and safety
  • Build trusting and effective working relationships that improve team performance and deliver results
  • Stay adaptable in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment and thrive with ambiguity

Requirements:

  • B.S./M.S. degree in engineering or technical field
  • 8+ years of Project Management experience
  • Ability to assimilate technical engineering information quickly and summarize concisely
  • Proven ability to develop and implement short-term and long-term strategies to mitigate risks
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusting and effective working relationships
  • Highly adaptable in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Tableau
  • 3+ years of direct Risk Management experience
  • Involvement with multiple portions of an aerospace product life cycle: R&D, Development, Production
  • Experience with aerospace vehicles or engines
