Position Overview and Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Program Representative III (Supervisor), the Program Representative II serves as a key resource and leads investigations into intricate cases. This role involves providing expert advice and direction regarding the regulations outlined in the Automotive Repair Act, along with conducting comprehensive data analysis, planning investigations, and delivering field training.

Please note that the PR II role does not qualify for a 4/10/40 work schedule.

  • Motor Vehicle Emissions Control Testing and Repair
  • Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing

Working Environment

The incumbent is expected to work 40 hours per week in an office environment, equipped with artificial lighting and climate control. Regular access to and utilization of a personal computer and telephone is essential. The role requires a stationary position consistent with typical office duties. Furthermore, approximately 75% of the time will be spent in the field, which may involve remaining stationary, driving, and moving about. During a standard work shift, the incumbent will frequently engage in hand manipulations and body movements. Occasionally, the incumbent may need to navigate around, under, or over obstacles while conducting investigations. Travel throughout an assigned geographical area using various transportation methods is required.

Special Qualifications

  • A valid California Driver's License (CDL) is required. Applicants must provide their CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements or restrictions in their application.
  • Medical clearance is required prior to employment.

Applicants must hold a valid California driver's license and maintain a good driving record. A medical examination is necessary to ensure fitness for the role. Candidates should have a clean work history, free from revocation or suspension of departmental licenses related to Lamp Installer/Adjuster, Brake Installer/Adjuster, Smog Technician, or Smog Inspector.
