Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security is on the lookout for a seasoned, detail-oriented, and proactive program manager to join our AWS Security China and Technology Organization.

This team is dedicated to establishing and implementing groundbreaking improvements that enhance Information Security for our clients, partners, and workforce in China.

In this pivotal role, you will spearhead cross-departmental projects and initiatives that involve various stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, operational teams, compliance experts, and legal advisors.

Your ability to connect these stakeholders will be crucial in articulating visions and goals, formulating project strategies, aligning resources and priorities, and driving the implementation of innovative solutions that not only support the AWS business in China but also have the potential to scale globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple, often conflicting, priorities concurrently;
  • Simplify complex and ambiguous technical challenges to their fundamental components;
  • Convert challenges into business and technical specifications and actionable steps;
  • Identify and collaborate with subject matter experts across various organizations and disciplines to outline potential solutions;
  • Assess the financial, technical, and operational implications of proposed solutions;
  • Formulate recommendations based on data analysis;
  • Produce clear written and verbal communications regarding the issues, solutions, and recommendations for diverse audiences, including executive leadership;
  • Utilize technical expertise, data insights, and effective communication skills to influence partners, stakeholders, and leaders to facilitate timely and informed decisions.

About the Team:

The AWS Security China and Technology Organization is accountable for all aspects of Information Security related to the AWS operations in China. Our teams encompass Regulatory Engagement, Audit & Compliance, Security Operations, and Security Solution Delivery.

Our team members work collaboratively from various locations, both within China and internationally, engaging with internal AWS teams and external partners, customers, and regulatory bodies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience managing complex security and policy programs;
  • Academic or professional background in Information Security, Risk Management, and Security Policies;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced academic qualifications, professional certifications, or equivalent experience in a technical field such as engineering or information technology;
  • Proven track record of delivering results through effective communication with stakeholders at all levels;
  • Experience working with virtual teams across different cultures and languages;
  • Ability to leverage data and metrics to drive improvements;
  • Experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams at senior levels;
  • Familiarity with working on projects related to China;
  • Willingness to travel as necessary;
  • Mandarin Chinese language skills are preferred but not mandatory.
