Position Overview

Senior Cloud Security Analyst

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-Time with Benefits

Our client is engaged in the support of critical security authorizations for new Cloud Products and third-party applications across various cloud infrastructures. This initiative necessitates comprehensive security evaluations, the formulation of essential security documentation (including System Security Plans), and ongoing monitoring activities. This role predominantly allows for remote work arrangements.

The Senior Cloud Security Analyst will play a pivotal role as a hands-on expert, collaborating with development, operational, and security engineering teams to address security challenges and gather pertinent information. Responsibilities include creating and managing the Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) for diverse environments, executing and analyzing vulnerability assessments, and documenting security control implementations in the System Security Plan.

Furthermore, this position will support security evaluations and continuous monitoring for various environments, including corporate and regulated sectors. The analyst will oversee the maintenance of the POAM for both commercial and corporate environments, analyze vulnerability assessment results, and assist in the FedRAMP and FISMA authorization processes. This role demands a senior-level technical analyst who can formulate policies, execute vulnerability assessments, interpret data, and provide insightful recommendations while conducting security impact analyses for environmental changes. Daily communication with security, engineering, and operational teams is essential, along with the ability to document and interpret data findings effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configuration, execution, and analysis of vulnerability assessments.
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate network diagrams and drawings.
  • Assess the state of Cloud Systems, including vulnerabilities and compliance.
  • Familiarity with current security controls and technologies.
  • Understand enterprise operating environments and associated security measures.
  • Document information system specifications and security controls.
  • Collaborate with teams to gather information and implement security controls.
  • Develop security documentation based on technical control implementations.
  • Assist with FedRAMP and FISMA authorization processes.
  • Maintain and update the monthly Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAM).
  • Respond effectively to customer inquiries regarding monitoring activities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology.
  • Experience with Cloud technologies, particularly AWS and Azure, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP and NIST risk management frameworks.
  • Proficient in executing and analyzing vulnerability assessments.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Splunk.
  • Ability to develop and implement information security architectures.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
Desired Technical Skills:
  • Professional certifications in relevant fields.
  • Knowledge of best practices and security guidelines.
  • Certifications such as CISSP or CISM are advantageous.
