Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Development Manager to join our team at MSI. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about sales and looking to take their career to the next level.
About the Role
The Sales Development Manager will be responsible for growing and developing sales and margins of MSI's Tile product lines with the retailer/dealer network in a designated geographic territory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in channel distribution sales, excellent sales and negotiation skills, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Development: Develop relationships with current customers and potential customers within specific territory to increase sales and revenue growth.
- Customer Support: Assist customers by providing knowledge and training company products to ensure personnel can effectively present products and negotiate with consumers.
- Product Knowledge: Understand MSI's products, market competition, and how to position products to overcome these factors.
- Display Management: Manage displays, samples, and selling tools for customer availability.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze retail business financials to consult with dealers on retail pricing, advertising, promotions, and ROI.
- Quotations and Contracts: Quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for customer orders.
- Delivery Estimates: Estimate date of delivery to customers based on company delivery schedules.
- Sales Reporting: Review and analyze various sales reports to identify sales potential with current customers and potential new customers.
- Marketing Tools: Utilize marketing tools such as catalogs, brochures, and vendor collateral to broaden reach in territory and promote company products.
- Customer Research: Research and analyze customer needs and demands based on market information.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve customer claims/problems with deliveries, returns, and credits.
- Trade Shows: Attend trade shows throughout the year as required.
- Travel: Travel 40% - 80% locally, occasionally nationally and/or internationally.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Two (2) plus years' experience in channel distribution sales.
- Minimum of 2 years of related industry experience; natural stone, tile, or hard flooring industries.
- Strong math skills to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
- Ability to determine solutions for customers.
- Results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Intermediate computer proficiency.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
- Good communication and people skills.
- Confidence and motivation to work toward targets.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well alone or within a team.
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving.
- Resilience to deal with customers who turn you down.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Salary Information
The estimated salary for this role is $60,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
