Program Management Specialist (Automation & Reliability Division)

Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Automation & Reliability Engineering, this role is vital to the objectives of the Automation & Reliability Engineering team within the Global Infrastructure Services sector of Global Technology & Operations. The primary focus of this position is to ensure the effective execution of our initiatives, which include the oversight of monitoring and observability tools, incident management protocols, operational automation, and analytics reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong enthusiasm for data-driven operations that span various IT and broadcast technologies, with a firm belief in the importance of automation for managing large-scale systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with owners of monitoring and observability tools to manage a stewardship program, focusing on documentation, provisioning, capability roadmaps, utilization analytics, and stakeholder communication.
  • Assist in the design and management of an automation center of excellence that facilitates an intake and lifecycle process for incident response and operational automation projects.
  • Work alongside data analysts to create impactful reporting for your programs and their stakeholders.
  • Develop and collaborate on program, product, and procedural documentation. Provide clear written and verbal updates on project roadmaps to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Engage in and lead program check-ins and stand-up meetings. Monitor progress, manage deliverables, expectations, and identify potential obstacles.

  • Operations: Apply processes and standards thoughtfully, balancing the necessary structure to achieve desired outcomes with minimal overhead.
  • Influence: Utilize data to guide roadmap priorities and improvements, demonstrating a solid understanding of the team's services from both technical and business perspectives.
  • Communication: Possess exemplary written and verbal communication skills, serving as a key contact for both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience: Comfortable leading project teams in both cloud and traditional IT environments.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with operational practices, workflows, and support models relevant to engineering teams.
  • Understanding: Comprehend incident management and monitoring workflows.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work with technology resources on projects, leveraging a solid understanding of current technologies and trends.
  • Accountability: Ensure project scope is adhered to and projects are completed while maintaining compliance with established processes, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Project Management: Skills in estimating, scheduling, coordinating, and assigning resources while providing business solutions and alternatives.
  • Documentation: Knowledge of industry best practices for technical documentation.
  • Strategic Focus: Ability to think both strategically and tactically to achieve business objectives, utilizing data to drive enhancements.

  • Familiarity with tools such as AWS, New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, Solarwinds, Confluence, Jira, Slack, Smartsheets, Pagerduty, and ServiceNow.
