Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Shively Diversified Management Services. As an Automotive Manufacturing Engineer - Project Specialist, you will be responsible for enhancing and refining the automotive manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze powertrain part prints and identify features and dimensions produced during the machining process.
  • Use the Quality Control Plan to identify part print features being checked and note gaging or measurement method and frequency.
  • Review cutting tool preset machine programs or Tool Control documents to find additional features of the cutting tool being checked.
  • Make note of part print features not being checked by the Control Plan or Tool Control document.
  • Provide a list of all features and their inspection method or lack of inspection method for review by the plant.
  • Utilize CAD software for drawing review and analysis.
  • Prioritize and identify the proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
  • Communicate with team members and management, providing regular updates on process improvements, challenges, and potential issues.
  • Analyze prints, processed, and work orders to identify discrepancies that could create production or quality issues.
Requirements
  • Open to project work with a bachelor's degree in engineering or similar experience.
  • Familiarity with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.
  • Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, and design principles.
  • Experience using CAD software and knowledge of AutoCAD is ideal.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines.
  • Solid understanding of high-volume manufacturing methods, processes, and machining.
  • Excellent project management skills, able to work remotely and with limited direction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
