Job Summary:

The Archdiocese of Seattle is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented 5th Grade English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Religion Teacher to join our team. As a member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in fostering academic excellence and nurturing a community of disciples in partnership with parents and parish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning: Foster an understanding of God through the study of religion and humanities courses, cultivate a love of learning in each student, encourage appreciation for God's creation, and stimulate thought and imagination in students' hearts, minds, souls, and spirits.
  • Instructional Planning: Plan and deliver clear and intentional instruction, assess student progress, and communicate regularly with parents.
  • Classroom Management: Utilize varied instructional strategies to meet the needs of 5th-grade students, maintain established routines and procedures of the classroom, supervise student behavior and activities, and participate in professional development activities.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records and report incidents as needed.
  • Professional Growth: Display a commitment to professional growth and adhere to school policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Must be a practicing Catholic.
  • Hold a current Washington State Teaching Certificate.
  • Meet Archdiocesan Safe Environment Standards.
  • Create a respectful classroom environment that supports student learning.
  • Support school events and activities.
