The Archdiocese of Seattle is seeking a committed and meticulous 5th Grade English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Religion Educator to join our educational community. Our goal is to promote academic achievement while nurturing a supportive environment for students and families.

REPORTS TO: Principal
CLASSIFICATION: Part-time
WORK SCHEDULE: 24 hours per week aligned with the academic calendar
COMPENSATION: Salary based on established pay scale

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

  • Encourage a deeper understanding of faith through the exploration of religious studies and humanities.
  • Inspire a passion for learning in every student.
  • Promote an appreciation for the world around us.
  • Encourage creativity and critical thinking in students' intellectual and spiritual development.

II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement effective instructional strategies.
  • Evaluate student performance and maintain open communication with families.
  • Employ diverse teaching methods to cater to the needs of 5th-grade learners.
  • Establish and uphold classroom routines and expectations.
  • Oversee student conduct and engagement.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and address incidents as necessary.
  • Comply with institutional policies and guidelines.
III. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be an active member of the Catholic faith.
  • Possess a valid Washington State Teaching Certificate.
  • Adhere to Archdiocesan Safe Environment Standards.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom atmosphere that enhances student learning.
  • Support school initiatives and community events.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
