Position Summary

The HR Operations Specialist will be instrumental in facilitating various functions related to talent management and acquisition, including recruitment, candidate evaluation, selection, and onboarding processes. This role will also oversee the daily operations within the HR Talent Management sector, managing tasks throughout the employee lifecycle such as hiring, orientation, employee engagement, training, performance evaluation, and offboarding. The position will report directly to the Senior Manager of Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
    • Manage the recruitment process for all corporate roles. Collaborate with the HR team and Hiring Managers to source candidates, advertise positions, and screen applicants for qualifications.
    • Organize and conduct interviews, address candidate inquiries, and maintain communication with Hiring Managers regarding recruitment progress.
    • Work with Hiring Managers to create, review, and update job descriptions.
    • Educate Hiring Managers on effective interview techniques with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Oversee all administrative functions to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires, including background checks.
    • Facilitate orientation for new employees.
    • Partner with Hiring Managers to create a successful onboarding experience, including day plans and check-ins for new hires.
  • Employee Engagement & Training:
    • Support initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement.
    • Assist in the annual performance review and salary adjustment processes.
    • Process transactions related to new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
    • Manage offboarding procedures, including conducting exit interviews.
    • Help coordinate departmental training and development programs.
    • Design and maintain spreadsheets, generate reports, and develop innovative methods for data compilation, including surveys.
    • Assist with the administration of employee-related matters as necessary.
    • Maintain electronic employee records and files.
    • Stay informed about labor laws and regulations.
    • Perform additional duties as required.
    • Act as a resource and advocate for sustainability initiatives at The Durst Organization, integrating sustainability into processes and business practices while empowering colleagues and stakeholders to engage in environmental stewardship.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of relevant HR experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong grasp of HR principles and practices, with experience in employee relations and familiarity with employment and labor laws.
  • Ability to maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Resourceful, organized, and detail-oriented with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and comprehensive knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in HRIS and talent management systems, with a strong analytical mindset and Excel proficiency.
  • Highly skilled in MS Office applications, capable of creating forms and surveys.
  • Solid understanding of employment law, affirmative action/EEO compliance, and diversity initiatives.
  • Experience with HR software such as UltiPro/UKG or ICims is a plus.
  • HR certification is an advantage.
