Your Key Responsibilities
The Senior Structural Engineer will operate independently on small to medium-sized projects and lead larger project teams, overseeing the work of Structural Engineers. Key responsibilities include:
  • Independently conducting calculations and drafting for small to medium projects.
  • Creating job-specific discipline specifications for less complex projects.
  • Mentoring junior engineers on intricate projects.
  • Collaborating with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Carrying out Construction Administration duties, including field observation reports, responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and assessing contractor change orders.
  • Utilizing company-standard software and proprietary manufacturer software for calculations.
  • Effectively communicating design challenges and solutions with the design team and clients.
  • Understanding industry-standard design processes and construction methods.
  • Managing project scope, budgets, and design approaches to deliver timely and high-quality client service.
  • Fostering existing client relationships.
  • Assisting in the development of design standards.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Comprehensive knowledge of structural design codes, standards, and relevant building codes.
  • In-depth understanding of structural systems, seismic design, construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey concepts and ideas to a diverse audience, including Architects, Engineers, and clients.
  • Ability to review the work of others for accuracy and completeness while managing time effectively to meet project budgets and schedules.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Capacity to engage in creative and critical thinking within a project team setting.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
A Professional Engineering license is required; a Structural Engineering license is preferred.
Proficiency in modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Revit).
Experience with general business software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
Familiarity with industry-standard Structural Engineering software (e.g., CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.).
