Position Overview:

This role is open to candidates in various locations across the West Coast. As a Civil Engineer 4, you will be an integral part of our Water Services Group, engaging in a diverse range of conveyance projects focused on water, water reuse, and wastewater management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Developing engineering designs that range from basic to highly intricate, including:
  • Conveyance systems
  • Hydraulic and hydrology calculations
  • Water distribution and collection systems
  • Site layout and grading
  • Stormwater infrastructure
Providing support during construction phases, which encompasses:
  • Reviewing submittals and RFIs
  • Conducting site visits
  • Managing construction processes
Engaging in master planning, research, modeling, and conceptual design activities.Ensuring compliance of designs and reports with relevant regulations and standards.Conducting site assessments to align designs with location specifications and updating requirements as necessary.Offering mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, while reviewing their work.

This position necessitates strong collaboration and communication skills, as you will work closely with colleagues across various offices and engineering disciplines. Additionally, you may represent CDM Smith at industry conferences and contribute to business development initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within 18 months of hire.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as required by project demands.

The pay range for this position is between $91,279 and $146,032, depending on experience and geographic location.
