About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing various project tasks, developing technical concepts and designs, and preparing documents including reports, studies, plans, specifications, and estimates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, design, evaluation, and review of various tasks in support of project execution.
  • Ability to work well with others within a diverse team environment.
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Work on complex or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests with the ability to solve complex issues with limited direction.
  • Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Carry out assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. Demonstrate innovation to deliver technical and operational excellence.
  • Identify discrepancies in results.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior level engineers.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines with the ability to make autonomous decisions guided by policies, procedures, and business objectives.
Qualifications
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • BA/BS in Civil Engineering plus 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • Demonstrated experience working on site/civil design projects.
    • Experience preparing calculations and design documents (reports, plans, specifications).
    • Valid US Drivers License required, as a condition of employment must pass the company's Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State (CA Preferred) or able to register for PE exam within 1 year.
    • 8+ years of experience, in civil engineering and building development projects covering all aspects of building design survey, design development, construction documents, construction administration.
    • Experience with permitting site/land development projects.
    • Demonstrated experience in planning and organizing tasks and teams in a deadline-intensive environment.
    • Experience working in large and complex projects/programs.
    • Experience with construction phase services for site/civil projects (field reviews, RFI and shop drawing/submittal reviews, specifications, as-builts and record drawings, etc.).
