As a Community Safety Specialist with the City of Winchester, VA, you will have the opportunity to ensure adults over 60 and adults over 18 who are incapacitated can live free of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

You will be responsible for assessing for adult safety and risk by completing investigations, scheduling and attending home visits to ensure the safety of vulnerable adults, and assessing for service needs, coordinating referrals, and encouraging participation in services to foster greater independence and provide support for caregivers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field, or a Bachelor's Degree in any field with two years of related experience in Social Work
  • Ability to work with vulnerable adults and their families
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
