Job Summary

The Benefits Program Specialist IV is a leadership-level position responsible for overseeing benefit programs and providing guidance to other specialists. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws, codes, policies, and procedures related to public assistance and caseload management best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other benefit program specialists
  • Manage complex cases and make decisions independently
  • Interpret public policies and regulations
  • Train and develop other employees in program areas
  • Collaborate with other community resources and partners to assist clients
Requirements
  • High school diploma with additional work experience in a leadership role and benefit programs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws, codes, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to manage complex cases and make decisions independently
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of Virginia's benefits programs
  • Direct knowledge and experience in management, direction, and supervision of others
  • Bachelor's degree in the human services field and human services program experience in a lead or supervisory capacity
