Job Title: TPWD - Engineer I-II-III (Design Project Manager)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineer I-II-III to join our team at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. As a Design Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the design and project management of various engineering projects across the state.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct or review engineering design, planning, construction, inspection, and maintenance work
  • Perform design and project management work at all stages of the project, including feasibility, scoping, planning, design, and project management
  • Coordinate with consultant engineers to execute work and review their designs
  • Work with the Engineering Program Manager to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Develop and implement sustainable building practices and LEED certification
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure project success

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification
  • 2-5 years of experience in engineering design and project management, depending on level
  • Experience with rural utility systems, TCEQ regulations, and sustainable building practices
  • Strong communication and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience with project scoping, scheduling, and budgeting
  • Knowledge of LEED rating system and green building principles

Working Conditions:

  • Work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Required to work overtime as necessary
  • Telecommute two days per week with supervisor approval
  • Operate a State vehicle and travel up to 25% of the time
