POSITION SUMMARY

As an Advanced Manufacturing Technician, you will play a crucial role in the success of our Sensors Division by executing production tasks for a variety of cryo-cooler assemblies. This may involve skilled manual work and/or the use of automated production machinery. The work environment is a clean/ESD lab that may require optical magnification. This position operates on the first shift with flexible start times.

The L3Harris Space & Sensors Division, based in Mason, Ohio, specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of sophisticated systems (including electronic, avionics, transceivers, transmitters, electro-optical, and electro-mechanical) for defense, aerospace, and commercial sectors. L3Harris is a recognized leader in Electro-Optical technologies that support surveillance, reconnaissance, threat detection, and self-protection missions. Our top-tier Space Avionics systems include equipment for Mars Rover/Landers/Orbiters, Launch Vehicles, and Imaging Satellite Communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute assigned manufacturing process steps for cryo-cooler assemblies and sub-assemblies for customer deliverables.
  • Determine and/or adhere to methods and sequences of operations in performing component preparation/installation, including hand soldering as required on assembly units.
  • Comprehend and interpret a variety of technical specifications, terms, and documents.
  • Understand and follow appropriate test equipment and safety procedures.
  • Support group objectives for timely delivery.
  • Adhere to industry standards or practices for 6S.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Provide regular updates on work progress.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with at least 4 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with hand tools.
  • Proficiency in email and Microsoft Office for at least 2 years.
  • Experience in reading and following technical drawings and work instructions for at least 2 years.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a diverse, team-oriented environment for at least 2 years.
  • Must be a United States Citizen.

  • Willingness to learn new processes
  • Experience in ESD/FOD and/or clean room environments
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged sitting at a workstation and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
