Position Overview

The role involves a combination of teaching responsibilities, primarily on a part-time per class basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing undergraduate courses and/or Basic Instruction Program (BIP) Physical Activity courses within the Department of Kinesiology. These courses, which total approximately 40 single-credit offerings, are designed to promote physical activity among all students, introduce them to new sports, and foster engagement with a diverse student body to enhance overall well-being.


Physical Demands

Physical requirements will vary based on course selection and may include activities such as running, lifting, swimming, dancing, and other physical exercises.


Health Risks

Health risks are associated with the physical activities related to the courses taught (e.g., hockey, baseball, weightlifting). Bloodborne pathogens training will be provided upon hire.


Appointment Details

This is a recurring appointment for the fall semester, with plans for continuation each academic year.

Required Qualifications

Applicants will be evaluated based on their educational background: Ph.D. for Assistant Professor, Master's for Instructor, and Bachelor's for Assistant Instructor. For those teaching BIP courses, current Adult CPR and First Aid Certification is mandatory. All candidates must possess relevant coaching or teaching experience in sports.


Preferred Qualifications

A Master's degree along with 1-3 years of teaching or coaching experience is desirable.
