Job Summary

The People Services Generalist is a key member of our HR team at The Jones Center For Families, responsible for delivering a range of human resources-related activities that support the growth and success of our organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can build strong relationships with employees, managers, and external partners.

Main Responsibilities
  • Benefits Administration: Ensure the smooth administration of all benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.
  • Recruitment and Hiring: Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions, collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Employee Onboarding and Training: Conduct practical and smooth orientation, onboarding, and training plans for new hires, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • HR Compliance and Risk Management: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices, reviewing policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Employee Engagement and Experience: Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement, recognition, and morale, and maintain the confidentiality of any information encountered.
Additional Responsibilities
  • HR Software and Systems: Be a subject matter expert and train staff on HR software, ensuring seamless integration and utilization of HR systems.
  • Special Events and Meetings: Coordinate special events, job fairs, training, and meetings for the HR department, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related area, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, with at least 7 years of human resources experience or experience in a similar role.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, outstanding organizational, planning, strategic thinking, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software.
