Director of Master's Student Services

The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Master's Student Services. This key role will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering academic advising, academic support, and student services initiatives for the Master's and Certificate programs within the Schar School.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement student services initiatives to support the academic success and degree attainment of Master's students.
- Collaborate with graduate program directors, faculty, and staff to foster student achievement and successful student retention.
- Lead the planning and implementation of student support services, including academic advising, academic support, registration, and other associated student services processes.
- Establish strategic priorities for the delivery of services in conjunction with the Assistant Dean of Graduate Student Services.
- Serve as the lead academic advisor to select graduate programs and lead the tracking and enforcement of student compliance with academic policies.
- Plan and execute new student orientation, commencement activities, co-curricular events, and academic support.
- Design outreach efforts demonstrating a respect for diversity and inclusion that serves to attract underrepresented populations to the Schar School.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Significant experience in higher education/student services or related work, including professional experience in academic advising (typically 5+ years).
- Demonstrated leadership experience in the field of higher education.
- Experience using technology to support data management and presentations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
- Proven leadership ability.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Professional experience in academic advising or related field.
- Experience working with college-educated/adult populations is desired.
