Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at G Brock Magruder MD PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, assisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures, and maintaining a safe and secure work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for ophthalmology examinations by dilating pupils, checking visual acuity, and recording medical history.
  • Perform routine vision screening examinations, administer eye medications, and clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments.
  • Assist physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures, ensuring a safe and sterile environment.
  • Verify patient information, record medical history, and accurately document all information in the EMR system.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, secure patient information, and complete diagnostic and procedure coding.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in ophthalmology preferred.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.

  • Repetitive motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
