Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at G Brock Magruder MD PA. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our clinicians in all aspects of ophthalmic care delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for ophthalmology examinations by dilating pupils, checking visual acuity, and communicating results to attending physicians.
  • Perform routine vision screening examinations, administer eye medications, and clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments.
  • Assist physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures, and maintain a safe and secure work environment.
  • Process prescription refill requests, maintain stock in exam rooms, and perform set standard numbers of patient work-ups based on established times.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; minimum of one year experience in ophthalmology preferred.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening, and ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
Physical Demands
  • Talking and hearing are required to convey detailed or essential verbal instructions to physicians, staff, and vendors.
  • Repetitive motion is required while working on reports on the computer.
  • Sedentary work is required, with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
