Ophthalmic Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at G Brock Magruder MD PA. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinicians in delivering best-in-class ophthalmic and optometric care.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for ophthalmology examinations by dilating pupils, checking visual acuity, and recording medical history.
- Perform routine vision screening examinations, administer eye medications, and clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments.
- Assist physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures, and provide primary ophthalmic care to patients.
- Verify patient information, record medical history, and accurately document all information in the EMR system.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment, and ensure compliance with legal regulations.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; minimum of one year experience in ophthalmology preferred.
- Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including listening.
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
This position requires talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Sedentary work is required, with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Visual requirements include close visual acuity to perform tasks such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and reading.
