Florida Vision Institute is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technician to join our team in Jupiter, Florida. As an essential member of our ophthalmology healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating various eye conditions and disorders.
Responsibilities:- Obtain a detailed patient history, including any eye-related symptoms, medical conditions, and medications.
- Administer basic vision tests, such as visual acuity and color vision testing, to gather essential information.
- Conduct a variety of specialized tests, including fundus photography, visual field testing, optical coherence tomography (OCT), A-scan and B-scan ultrasound, and corneal topography.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, although some positions may prefer or require post-secondary training in ophthalmic technology.
- Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) is highly regarded.
- Strong communication skills and empathy for patient care.
- Proficiency in operating ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and software.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
