Job Responsibilities

This role offers a competitive $5,000 Split Sign-on Bonus or $10,000 Student Loan Repayment for qualified new hires. The position entails delivering mental health services to incarcerated individuals, which includes crisis intervention, assessments, psychological documentation, psychoeducational initiatives, as well as both individual and group therapy sessions. The incumbent will also be involved in treatment planning and discharge strategies under the guidance of a Senior Psychologist or Mental Health Clinician.

The clinician will be responsible for screening, tracking, and overseeing inmates with mental health needs across various settings, including intake and general population units. Participation in the creation, execution, and evaluation of mental health service protocols and programs within the facility is expected. Additionally, the role may involve collaboration with specialized units or programs and serving as a consultant to various staff members including Administration, Security, and Community Corrections.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess training and experience in addressing mental health disorders. A proven ability to formulate intervention and treatment strategies is essential, along with experience in providing both individual and group counseling. A comprehensive understanding of psychopathology, diagnostic criteria, psychological principles, and ethical standards is required. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

A graduate degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred. Candidates should have relevant experience in delivering mental health services in correctional, forensic, outpatient, or similar environments. Licensure as a clinician or eligibility as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as per state regulations is also required.
