Role Summary:

At HCA North Florida Division, we are launching our inaugural Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy program, seeking exceptional Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to contribute to this innovative initiative in Gainesville.

Ideal Candidates Will:
  • Work collaboratively with experienced physicians in the newly established program, which represents the tenth initiative of its kind within HCA Healthcare.
  • Be adaptable to both inpatient and outpatient environments, with the potential to focus on one setting as the program evolves, while maintaining flexibility based on patient needs.
  • In the inpatient environment, assist the attending physician in patient management across various hospital units. Responsibilities include conducting patient rounds, participating in daily care decisions, entering orders, coordinating with consultants, and facilitating scheduling for necessary procedures.
  • In the outpatient clinic, under the guidance of an attending physician, provide diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare services. Duties involve gathering medical histories, performing physical examinations, coordinating laboratory tests, prescribing medications, and supporting patients with their treatment plans and educational requirements.
  • Be comfortable performing or willing to learn minor procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, intrathecal chemotherapy, skin biopsies, and supervising cellular product infusions and apheresis/photopheresis.
  • Co-manage patients with complex blood cancers, hematopoietic cell transplantation, and cellular therapy.
