Job Summary

The Hive Group is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead and participate in all aspects of the HR function within a government contracting organization. This role requires in-depth knowledge of government compliance, labor laws, and contracting requirements.

The successful candidate will develop and execute strategies that support the organization's objectives, ensuring compliance while fostering a positive, effective, and compliant workplace culture.

This role will report to the Vice President of Operations and will be responsible for leading initiatives in workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have led HR functions within government contracting or other regulated environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and managing an HR team of 2-3 persons
  • Developing and implementing forward-thinking HR strategies
  • Leading initiatives in workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning
  • Serving as the key liaison with government contracting officers and agencies
  • Developing programs for employee development, retention, and succession planning
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on HR and labor relations issues
  • Developing and managing competitive compensation and benefits programs
  • Promoting a positive work environment through effective leadership in employee relations, performance management, and organizational culture
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of HR information systems
  • Leading efforts to identify and mitigate risks associated with labor laws, government regulations, and employee relations
