Mortgage Processor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Processor to join our team at Financial Mortgage Solutions, LLC. As a Mortgage Processor, you will play a critical role in the mortgage lending process, working closely with loan officers, underwriters, and borrowers to ensure timely and compliant loan processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain detailed documentation of the loan process, from origination to close, in our system.
  • Assemble and submit loan packages to underwriters for approval or denial.
  • Adhere to all lending and regulatory guidelines and policies while preparing the loan file.
  • Document the loan process from origination to approval through our system.
  • Collect and verify necessary financial documentation, such as credit reports, to complete mortgage loan applications and determine creditworthiness.
  • Order property and loan documentation, such as appraisals and title searches, to help process mortgage loan files.
  • Assist borrowers in determining the best mortgage type based on their situation.
  • Manage a pipeline of loans and maintain a timely and compliant flow of such loans through the process.
  • Communicate with underwriters to clarify conditions and ensure loan files meet banking and regulatory guidelines and policies.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of mortgage processing experience, 5+ years preferred.
  • Current or previous experience fulfilling the roles of Processor, LOA, Loan Partner, Loan Officer, and/or Underwriter.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and multitask without being micromanaged to meet multiple deadlines and a keen sense of urgency.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Work well in a team environment while working remotely from home.
  • Experience working in a broker's environment and using Calyx software.
  • High school diploma or GED required - Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred.
