Job Summary

The primary function of this position is to proactively solicit new residential mortgage clients, while developing and cultivating a strong business network of referrals. As a Loan Officer, you will analyze borrowers' financial and credit data to determine creditworthiness and the probability of financial security in repayment efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate sales by contacting prospective clients, developing and maintaining referral sources, and spending time outside of the office to originate loans.
  • Meet with prospective clients at locations other than the office, such as clients' homes or other locations, to sell mortgage loan products/packages.
  • Communicate with clients by telephone, mail, and e-mail to support in-person contacts and obtain credit information and necessary documentation for the application process.
  • Engage in marketing and promotional activities to support sales efforts and develop new and continued business opportunities and sales leads.
  • Develop solid product knowledge and offer clients the best mortgage products to match their needs.
  • Analyze and exercise independent judgment and discretion in advancing the company's business objectives and the interests of customers regarding significant financial decisions.
  • Carry out major assignments affecting business operations, including collecting and analyzing information regarding customers' income, assets, investments, or debts, and determining which financial products best meet their needs.
Qualifications
  • Sales experience in the mortgage industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with mortgage processes, procedures, rules, regulations, and compliance.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze financial information.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present complex financial information.
