Real Estate Loan Processing Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Real Estate Loan Processing Supervisor will oversee the operations of the loan processing staff, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of loan applications, adherence to regulatory guidelines, and high levels of member service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide leadership to a team of loan processors, including interviewing, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Ensure performance goals and targets for the department are achieved.
- Monitor individual and team performance to ensure timely and accurate loan processing.
- Develop and implement standardized loan processing procedures and workflows to ensure efficient and consistent processing.
- Receive and review real estate loan applications, ensuring all required documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepare loan documents in accordance with the loan approval, regulatory compliance requirements, and consumer-elected products such as debt protection.
- Fund the loan and disburse the proceeds in accordance with the loan instructions.
- Regularly review Synergy to ensure all loan tracking checklists are complete for loans funded by the department.
- Communicate with appropriate staff and borrowers to gather missing information, resolve discrepancies, and provide updates on loan application status.
- Download HMDA information and review the accuracy of the LAR prior to sending to Compliance.
- Respond promptly and professionally to borrower, appraiser, and title company inquiries, providing exceptional member service throughout the loan process.
- Ensure clear and effective communication channels are maintained with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and report any suspicious activities, potential fraud, and compliance violations to the appropriate channels.
- Perform home equity loan pre-closing duties, including ordering and reviewing appraisals, preparing and sending disclosures in accordance with regulatory timeframes, ordering and reviewing title searches, obtaining updated homeowners insurance, and other required tasks.
Requirements:
- Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills to motivate employees and elicit production output.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High level of analytical ability where problems are complex (i.e., personnel, loan problems).
- High level of organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- General knowledge of credit union lending is desirable.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two to four years credit union or banking experience with progressive responsibilities in leadership and/or loan operations required.
- Two-year Business or related degree preferred.
- Must possess general knowledge of credit union operations.
