Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service and Patient Reception:
    • Ensure seamless patient flow and provide a warm welcome to all patients and visitors.
    • Answer and direct phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and manage patient messages.
    • Update patient demographic information, scan documents, and maintain accurate records.
  • Patient Accounting and Information Management:
    • Process patient transactions, manage accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
    • Review and update patient insurance information, scan documents, and maintain accurate records.
    • Manage incoming medical records, prior authorizations, and fax queue.
  • Operations Support:
    • Perform medical records support tasks, such as analyzing, filing, retrieving, and updating patient charts.
    • Greet and room patients, escort to room, obtain vital signs, and complete patient intake.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality, a clean and organized work environment, and office supplies.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement and Other:
    • Complete related reports and projects as directed.
    • Work collaboratively with the office team to complete projects and tasks.
    • Continuously review work-related processes and communicate quality enhancement recommendations to management.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; 2-year college degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in a healthcare setting with primary responsibility for clerical, general office, patient accounting, and reception-oriented tasks.
Work Environment:
  • Works in an office environment with occasional exposure to patient care areas.
  • May be required to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds.
