- Answer and direct phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and manage patient messages.
- Update patient demographic information, scan documents, and maintain accurate records.
- Patient Accounting and Information Management:
- Process patient transactions, manage accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Review and update patient insurance information, scan documents, and maintain accurate records.
- Manage incoming medical records, prior authorizations, and fax queue.
- Operations Support:
- Perform medical records support tasks, such as analyzing, filing, retrieving, and updating patient charts.
- Greet and room patients, escort to room, obtain vital signs, and complete patient intake.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, a clean and organized work environment, and office supplies.
- Continuous Quality Improvement and Other:
- Complete related reports and projects as directed.
- Work collaboratively with the office team to complete projects and tasks.
- Continuously review work-related processes and communicate quality enhancement recommendations to management.
- High school diploma or GED required; 2-year college degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience working in a healthcare setting with primary responsibility for clerical, general office, patient accounting, and reception-oriented tasks.
- Works in an office environment with occasional exposure to patient care areas.
- May be required to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential job functions for this position.
