POSITION SUMMARY:
Oversee team members to guarantee client satisfaction by ensuring all shipments are processed punctually and without damage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guide, manage, train, and develop staff with an emphasis on retention and professional growth.
  • Supervise and direct employee activities (including pre-shift preparations) focusing on exceptional quality, customer commitments, and safety performance while identifying areas for improvement.
  • Continuously observe, document, and educate staff on unsafe practices or conditions, implementing corrective measures as necessary and providing feedback to all affected personnel.
  • Plan daily workforce requirements and establish schedules to ensure timely and damage-free delivery and pickup of freight.
  • Clearly communicate job assignments to all employees, ensuring that instructions are straightforward and understood.
  • Monitor service freight and ensure compliance with cut-off times.
  • Analyze and address opportunities to reduce costs and enhance efficiencies while upholding strict safety standards.
  • Assist clients with rate quotations, claims information, and appointment scheduling.
  • Track actual performance metrics and compile information for reporting purposes.
  • Foster relationships and maintain positive communication with all business partners to meet service standards for both clients and the company.
  • Identify freight that is incorrectly classified or weighed.
  • Ensure all Overages, Shortages, and Damages (OS&D) are accurately identified and processed.
  • Perform necessary administrative tasks as required.
  • Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the LTL industry, DOT regulations, OSHA standards, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC, and tariff rules, as well as company policies and procedures is preferred.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Dock setting; exposure to various weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, and noise.
  • Work hours may vary based on operational requirements.
  • Frequent interaction with service center personnel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY: This salary range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for this position. Factors influencing actual salary may include specific skills, work location, years of experience, and comparisons to other employees in similar roles.
