Mohawk Ambulance Service is seeking a dedicated Operations Supervisor

This pivotal supervisory role is accountable for the daily functions and management of the assigned ambulance service station.

This essential position oversees the administrative and operational components of our ambulance service, ensuring adherence to industry standards and maintaining exceptional service quality.


Key Responsibilities

The following list outlines the primary duties associated with this role.

As with all personnel at Mohawk, the Operations Supervisor may be requested to undertake additional related tasks to support the overall mission and objectives of the organization.

Operational Management:

  • Oversees and coordinates the daily operations of the ambulance service station.
  • Monitors the readiness of the ambulance fleet, ensuring that vehicles are adequately equipped and maintained.
  • Ensures that operational protocols are consistently followed to enhance response times and service efficiency.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervises and supports ambulance personnel, promoting a positive and collaborative work atmosphere.
  • Conducts regular evaluations to ensure staff compliance with protocols, safety measures, and equipment/supply inspections.
  • Collaborates with the Operations Center and dispatch team to address any staffing issues at the station.
  • Mentors, coaches, and administers disciplinary actions to crew members as necessary.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensures adherence to local, state, and federal regulations governing ambulance services.
  • Verifies that vehicle logs are completed daily by all crew members and that vehicle inspections are conducted monthly.

Quality Control:

  • Performs periodic assessments of ambulance services to identify areas for enhancement.
  • Develops and implements corrective action plans to address any identified deficiencies.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Facilitates effective communication between station staff, dispatch, and the leadership team.
  • Acts as a point of contact for escalated issues and emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of relevant experience with a proven track record in managing and/or supervising staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Operational knowledge of MS Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience as a provider is not a prerequisite for this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds (including overhead) as needed.
  • Capability to stand and engage in physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Must be able to access and navigate various departments within the organization's facilities.
