Job Summary

The St. David's HealthCare Nurse Residency Program is a comprehensive training program designed to support the transition of new graduate nurses into the clinical setting. As a Nurse Residency Program Coordinator, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of this program, working closely with experienced nurse educators and clinical leaders to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and deliver advanced clinical training in a specialty area, including neonatal care
  • Develop and implement educational sessions and preceptorship training programs
  • Collaborate with medical providers and other members of the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care
  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s)
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner
  • Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and striving to anticipate patient needs
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects
Requirements:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State of Texas
