Position SummaryAs the ROSS Service Coordinator, you will hold the administrative authority and accountability necessary to execute your designated responsibilities. You will oversee the ROSS Program under the guidance of the Senior Director of Community Development, ensuring compliance with HACA policies, HUD regulations, and federal standards. The program's success hinges on strategic goals and metrics, requiring thorough analysis to meet grant objectives. This role is funded by a three-year HUD grant, with the potential for renewal.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain a robust network of educational, training, mental health, economic development, and other supportive services for both youth and adults.
- Develop a comprehensive directory of available service resources and act as a liaison between participants and service providers.
- Assess participant needs, set clear and measurable goals, and connect them with appropriate resources. Document progress and adjust services as necessary.
- Assist participants in completing required application and enrollment forms.
- Maintain regular communication with clients through various channels.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of paperwork, data entry, monthly reports, and case notes.
- Coordinate referrals and provide on-site supportive services for ROSS participants, including mental health support, GED programs, employment workshops, and financial education.
- Collaborate with the FSS program to facilitate seamless transitions for participants between programs.
- Identify service gaps and work towards implementing effective solutions.
- Engage with the Resident Council by participating in meetings and coordinating public hearings for resident feedback.
- Provide regular reports to the Supervisor on program progress and areas for enhancement, including required HUD documentation.
Required: High school diploma or G.E.D. with at least one year of experience in social services or community outreach; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Associate's Degree with two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in managing or delivering social service programs is advantageous. Proficiency in Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, or Sign Language is a plus.
Skills and Competencies- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Experience in case management and familiarity with HUD regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of community resources related to social services and workforce development.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse populations, including Public Housing residents and local service providers.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and professionalism.
- Valid Texas driver's license.
- Eligibility for coverage under Housing Authority fleet auto insurance.
This role requires regular standing and walking, along with the ability to comprehend and follow complex instructions. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with individuals from various backgrounds and establishing effective working relationships.
